Jacksonville Church History
On June 24, 2003 Rev. Augustus Martey Asemnor, then Atlanta District Pastor and Elder Kwasi Mireku, a renowned Gospel Minister in Ghana were returning from a crusade in Tampa, Florida. On their way back to Atlanta, they made a stopover at Jacksonville with Elder P.K.Koomson the then Tampa Presiding Elder to meet with one Mr. Charles Osei-Adjei, to discuss the vision of establishing a branch of The Church of Pentecost in Jacksonville.

The Holy Spirit touched his heart during their brief stopover which led him to spread the good news to other Ghanaians and nationals from Liberia, Guinea, Nigeria and Congo. In two weeks there was a follow up Gospel crusade at Radisson Hotel, led by Rev. Martey Asemnor and Elder Francis Adjei another Gospel Minister. By the power of the Holy Spirit, twenty-seven (27) people accepted the Lord as their personal Savior. With the untiring effort by Mr.Charles Osei-Adjei, the church got a temporary place of worship at the Radisson Hotel as Elders and Deacons from Atlanta, Tampa and Orlando continued to visit in turns to worship with the infant church to nurture its growth. The pioneer members of the church include the following: Mr.Kofi Tomoah, Deacon Theo Ofori, Mr.Charles Osei-Adjei, Mrs. Emma Owusu, Sisters Comfort Clarke, Sarah Carrier, Bedelia, Evelyn Osei ,and Akua Boatemaa,.

Elder Daniel S.Aboagye and wife Deaconess Selina Obeng relocated to Jacksonville from Worcester, Massachusset in October. By grace of God on October 17, 2003 Elder Daniel S.Aboagye became the first Presiding Elder of the new assembly.   On Sunday October 19, 2003 about four months after the gospel team visitation, the church was inaugurated in Jacksonville, and was officiated by Apostle J.S.Gyimah, the then National Head in Nigeria and retired Apostle F.C.Ampiah from Ghana.
The first interim presbyters were: Elder Daniel S.Aboagye (Presiding Elder), Bro. Theo  Ofori (Secretary), Bro. Charles Osei-Adjei (Financial Sec.), Sister Comfort Clarke (Treasurer), Mr.Kofi Tomoah, and Sister Selina Obeng as members.
