The Church of Pentecost, USA Inc.
History of Tampa Assembly

It all began in the middle of the year 1999, when a group of Ghanaians decided to come together to form a prayer group. After numerous prayer meetings and with increased in membership to about eight members, the group decided to operate as a church rather than a prayer group.

Through Pastor Omane Yeboah the then district pastor of the church in Atlanta, Tampa Assembly was inaugurated in May 2000. The newly inaugurated Tampa Assembly rented a warehouse, located on Nebraska Avenue to serve as a place of worship and for church services. And within a span of two years, the Lord had added more souls and active membership of Tampa Assembly had reached 90 members. Based on these developments, the leadership of the church saw the need to raise funds to acquire its own church building; a project that was accepted by all in good faith.

In 2004 the church relocated its place of worship from the warehouse on Nebraska Avenue to a hall on the second floor of Quality Inn, located on East Bearss Avenue…a more spacious place to accommodate the increased in membership.  We served faithfully in this hall at Quality Inn for 3 years; during which period our “Church Building Committee” was also at work looking for a suitable church building for the church. The present church building was inaugurated on Sunday, July 20th, 2008 by Apostle Albert Amoah, the National Head and Apostle Samson Yiadom, who was then the Washington Regional Head; assisted by Reverend Joseph Antwi Frimpong, the then District Pastor.
(First Presiding Elder: Elder Paa Kwasi Koomson;
