|
The women's movement was formed to address the spiritual, moral, physical and social needs of women in the church. It encourages women to improve their potential for participation in the mission of the church. It is a forum that helps address topics and issues as they affect the woman. It encourages young women to cultivate healthy lifestyles, be morally upright and have a decent civil and spiritual conduct that would empower them to be gracious in their actions and expressions. The ministry meets to pray and intercede for the ministers of the church and her growth. Character studies of some notable women in the Scripture to enrich their Christian life are taught in their meetings. Besides their spiritual duties, the women learn of their roles in the house, and in the church, housekeeping, personal hygiene, raising kids, cooking and grooming. It encourages women to become involved in all areas of ministry in their church, their community, and in their homes. It mentors young women so that they may find joy in the Lord. The women's ministry is involved in sponsoring and developing a number of programs and activities throughout the year. These include:
- Women's Week and Mothers Day Celebration
- Prayer groups and prayer chains
- Small group ministries/Bible studies
- Church hospitality
- Mentoring young girls and women.
- Leadership Training
The ministry is under the leadership of District Leader Deaconess Vida Kponu of the Orlando Assembly.
